About

We support the safety net

As a community, we define ourselves by the concern we have for others. We cherish and strive for a sense of connectedness that is unparalleled in the nation. We know that, as Abraham Lincoln said, through our local government we are able to do together what we cannot do ourselves. In the challenging years of this recession, we look to our elected leaders to help us ensure that we are providing a safety net for the many in our community who have fallen on hard times.

Our community safety net provides a basic level of security that we all deserve. In particular, when people have a safe, stable, affordable place to live they’re better able to invest in themselves, their children and a better community for us all. By investing the public’s resources in the safety net, local government supports this community’s values.

We’re back and better than ever!
